The driveway, which typically takes up significant real estate in front of a house, makes a strong impression on passersby.
When well-maintained, it communicates a welcoming message. Here are 5 tips to keep your driveway in shape:
- We recommend that you keep all traffic off your driveway for at least 3 days to one week.
- Be especially careful using gas or oil on your driveway. Wash any spills away immediately with water.
- Blacktop softens when it is heated. Be especially careful in the summertime heat. Keep bicycles and lawn furniture off blacktop as well as not turning the wheels of your car while it is sitting still - this will prevent permanent markings.
- For the 6 to 12 months, avoid parking in the same spot on your driveway.
- Do not start or stop car in the driveway quickly - this will avoid scarring of the driveway.
